EyeQuestion 4.8

Additional admin options have been added to version 4.8 of the software suite where system administrators can enable or disable the option to lock users from editing an project if a user is already working on it. The ‘read-only’ mode will be indicated by a grey color and ‘read-only’ icon. This option is disabled by default so if you would like to make use of it please make sure to enable it in the administrator settings first.

There were already options in place to restrict selected users from project folders and files, but now there is also the option to restrict users from locations. This way you can prevent certain groups of users to use a location and its booths. Creating your custom design has also been improved by adding the Design Export option, which automatically exports your design in a ready-to-import excel file.

Another often requested option was the possibility to specify the amount of products to be placed in each session. Previously, an equal number of products was divided into the sessions, now you are able to set up the exact amount of products you would like to have in each session using the ‘session pattern’ in the design generator and when importing a custom design.

A new questiontype has been added which can be used to show the panelists feedback using the analytical options found in EyeOpenR. This questiontype is called ‘EyeOpenR’ and can be found in the special questions. It allows project managers to select an analysis from EyeOpenR which will then be displayed for the panelists after their session has been closed. Just like the panel feedback questiontype, this one has to be placed at the end of the questionnaire with the feedback and close session options enabled on the final screen of the questionnaire. Filters can also be applied based on the questions or products from the questionnaire.

One of the new features that makes use of EyeOpenR’s analytical abilites is the new Dashboard in EyeQuestion. Two types of Dashboard can currently be created to be used with EyeQuestion :
A Data Mining Dashboard and a Statistical Dashboard.  Please keep in mind that all dashboards have to be custom made, so please contact us for more information.

Data Mining Dashboard
•  No statistical treatment.
•  Frequency, means, images, text & geolocation data in widgets.
•  Widgets communicate with each other, altering one will impact the other.
•  Not updated Live (yet).
Statistical Dashboard
•  Statistical representation of data.
•  All EyeOpenR analyses available.
•  Single widgets, not communicating with each other.
•  Live updates possible

EyeQuestion version 4.8 also includes two new project templates: R-Index and the Double Faced Applicability Test.

In the R-Index test, panellists have the evaluate a certain amount of samples against a control sample. The panellists will answer on the following scale how sure they are that the sample is the same or different than the reference:

  1. Same -I am sure
  2. Same – I am unsure
  3. Different – I am unsure
  4. Different – I am sure
  5.

The Double Faced Applicability Test template has been based on the article A novel two-step rating-based ‘double-faced applicability’ test. Part 1: Its performance in sample discrimination in comparison to simple one-step applicability rating by In-Ah Kim et al. It is an extended response format of the CATA questiontype and has an improved sensitivity for product discrimination and has been developed for stabilizing subjects’ evaluative criteria. Each attribute will be evaluated twice, once using a positive descriptor/statement and once using a negative descriptor/statement. First, panelists are asked if the statement applies or not. This is followed by a sureness question.
